PostHeaderIcon I am pregnant and having difficulty sleeping. My doctor told me I can take Benadryl nitely, is it safe?

I am almost 35 weeks pregnant. I’ve been having difficulty sleeping and my OBGYN told me that I could take Benadryl or Tylenol PM to sleep. I asked her how often is safe, and she told me I could take it everynite. There are always conflicting opinions I am finding from doctors, fellow pregnant woman, and ofcourse online. Just wondering if any one else has been in the same situation, and if so, did you take anything. Thank You!

ur asking yahoo answers because ur not sure of the doctor u just consulted? lol i think doctors supposed to kno better xD

Without treatment the condition may lead to other health issues such as heart disease. With treatment the prognosis is very good.

PostHeaderIcon Why do we have nightmares in our sleep when it is too hot and start sweating?

First of all, nightmares can be triggered by the environment you are in. In other words, what you feel while sleeping could be the key point to your dream.

However, it all depends on individual. for example, if you are feeling hot and start sweating, subconsciously you may be feeling burdened, like in dessert or hell, then in your subconscious mind, it will generate images of things you don’t want to see or project. That is why you may feel that way.

Nevertheless, many people just couldn’t sleep at all when it is hot, and very often be waken up because of that. If you are a sound sleeper, and if the environment does not wake you up, very often, it will create nightmare depending on your situation.

PostHeaderIcon Sleep Apnea: is it common to have mood swings AFTER treatment?

My son-in-law recently began treatment for sleep apnea. He’s 38 and has suffered from it his entire adult life, apparently. Now that he’s getting proper sleep, he has started being verbally abusive. What’s scarey is that he often can’t remember saying things he has recently said! Is there any way to get him back to normal? Is his brain having trouble making connections after all this time? We are concerned for our daughter and grandson.

Unfortunatly this is not from sleep apnea treatment, it sounds like he is a jerk. The symptoms you list are more common in pretreatment. I’m assuming he uses a Bipap or had a UPPP, there is also a chance that the treatment is not working. I think that what he really needs is counceling. What he is doing is more common in narcotics users which is also a possibility.
