what causes a person to have difficulty falling asleep and waking and sweating alot during sleep?
he has had alot of trouble falling asleep and then once he does he sleeps really late the next day he has also been waking up in sweats and really warm body temperatute what could be wrong do any of these symptoms sound familiar of anything?
stress has a lot to do with sleeping. too much stress can cause sleeplessness or too little sleep. but it sounds like he has night sweats. this is when a person experiences profuse sweating during sleep. they sweat so much it causes discomfort and they wake up with semi-wet to extremely wet sleepwear. causing lack of sleep. he might just sleep in really late the next day due to his lack of sleep last night. if he has anything like epilepsy, diabetes, sleep apnea or other diseases, this may cause the night sweats. try avoiding spicy foods and alcohol, try making the room cooler (by AC or opening a window or something like that) drink a lot of cold ice water and other cold beverages (like i said, besides alcohol), and this will probably be the hardest one (it would be for me anyways) before he goes to bed, have him take a cold shower. hope this helps!
are you pregnant ladies having difficulty finding a good way to sleep?
I don’t sleep on my stomach anymore and i know that sleeping on the back is not adviseable, but when I sleep on my left or right side, I find myself switching position often because my side or hip area starts getting uncomfortable. What about you?
I think this is the worst part of pregnancy…finding a good way to get some sleep! With my 2nd pregnancy I bought a Snoogle body pillow and it was great! I still use it even though I’m not pregnant anymore (my youngest is 7 months), just because it supports my back when I’m nursing. You can get one at Target for about $30 or $40 and it’s well worth the money! With my 3rd pregnancy my hips would get numb at night and that sucked, but the Snoogle did help also because I was able to lay on my back a little bit with it and take some of the pressure off of my hips/side. Good luck!
How much does uninsured sleep apnea treatment cost?
I KNOW THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO HEAR THIS:
>>>>>> BUT YOU NEED TO READ ALL THESE ANSWERS !!!!<<<<<<<
I HAD INSURANCE !!! BUT DID NOT GET PROPER SLEEP TREATMENT UNTIL LAST YEAR. I AM NOW 61 YEARS OLD AND I SWEAR TO GOD I FEEL LIKE I HAVE REGAINED BACK OVER 40 YEARS OF MY LIFE!
I APPARENTLY NEVER KNEW WHAT SLEEP WAS!
DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO GO TO A SLEEP CLINIC, BEG WHATEVER YOU CAN IF YOU HAVE APNEA, AND YOU GET A CPAP YOU WILL SHORTLY BE A NEW YOU!!!
FOLLOW THE DOCTORS DIRECTIONS ORDERS, AND ALL SORTS OF WONDERFUL THINGS WILL HAPPEN!
IT IS POSSIBLE THAT A CPAP COMPANY HAS A PROGRAM, MY DAUGHTER IS ON A MEDICAL PLAN FROM THE MANUFACTURER FOR FREE AS SHE DOES MOSTLY CHARITY WORK FOR OTHERS. ONLY A DOCTOR WILL KNOW THIS, OR SALESMAN OF A CPAP MACHINE , AT ANY RATE IT WOULD CENTER AROUND A CLINIC.
I AM POSITIVE THAT THE CLINIC WILL WORK OUT SOMETHING REASONABLE. BUT THE RETAIL COST OF THE MACHINE IS $2000.00 AND THAT OVERNIGHT STAY CAN COST JUST ABOUT WHATEVER THEY WANT IT TO. IF A PERSON HAS INSURANCE THEY MAKE IT 2 NIGHTS AND A TOTAL COST OF SAY $15,000.00+ TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR THE CLINIC. WITHOUT INSURANCE THEY CAN DO IT IN ONE NIGHT AT A COST OF FROM NOTHING TO SOME NOMINAL FEE PAID OVER TIME WORKED OUT AHEAD OF TIME.
MAIN THING IS SEE A DOCTOR WITH A CLINIC AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR ADVISE! IT WILL BE THE BEST THING YOU WILL EVER DO FOR YOURSELF!
JUST ASK AT THE CLINIC NEAREST YOU!
I SWEAR YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT! AND IF YOU ARE MARRIED, AND OLDER I KNOW YOUR WIFE WILL GET THE POINT!
GOOD LUCK AND GOOD DREAMS,
APS
What are some cures for insomnia?
I have been taking ambien 5-10mg. The 10mg seems to work fairly well but I worry about taking all that medication. I took the 5mg last night and was still awake at 4:30am. Not nervous, just unable to fall asleep. Once I am asleep I don’t have much trouble staying asleep.
Recent research has shown that cognitive behavior therapy can be more effective than medication in controlling insomnia. In this therapy, patients are taught improved sleep habits and relieved of counter-productive assumptions about sleep.
Some traditional remedies for insomnia have included drinking warm milk before bedtime, taking a warm bath in the evening; exercising vigorously for half an hour in the afternoon, eating a large lunch and then having only a light evening meal at least three hours before bed, avoiding mentally stimulating activities in the evening hours, and making sure to get up early in the morning and to retire to bed at a reasonable hour.
Using aromatherapy, including jasmine oil, lavender oil, Mahabhringaraj and other relaxing essential oils, may also help induce a state of restfulness. Horlicks is marketed as a sleeping aid.
Many believe that listening to slow paced music will help insomniacs fall asleep.
The more relaxed a person is, the greater the likelihood of getting a good night’s sleep. Relaxation techniques such as meditation have been shown to help people sleep. Such techniques can lower stress levels from both the mind and body, which leads to a deeper, more restful sleep.
Traditional Chinese medicine has included treatment for insomnia. A typical approach may utilize acupuncture, dietary and lifestyle analysis, herbology and other techniques, with the goal of resolving the problem at a subtle level.
In the Buddhist tradition, people suffering from insomnia or nightmares may be advised to meditate on "loving-kindness", or metta. This practice of generating a feeling of love and goodwill is claimed to have a soothing and calming effect on the mind and body. This is claimed to stem partly from the creation of relaxing positive thoughts and feelings, and partly from the pacification of negative ones. In the Mettā (Mettanisamsa) Sutta’, Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, tells the gathered monks that easeful sleep is one benefit of this form of meditation.
Hypnotherapy, self hypnosis and guided imagery can be effective in not only falling asleep and staying asleep; they can also help to develop good sleeping habits over time. Visualizing can be effective in taking the mind away from present day anxieties and towards a more relaxing place.
Hope this helps; Good Luck!
During the night after a couple of hours of sleep my legs and arms get hot disturbing my sleep. Any remedy?
Only during sleep this happens and upon getting up the heat sensation is there for a while and then becomes not noticeable. I toss around in sleep to overcome the discomfort
See your health care provider as soon as possible. Some diseases and conditions, such as the professor’s vitamin B12 deficiency, affect peripheral nerves directly. Others in this category include diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, thiamine deficiency, and kidney failure. I hope this helps you. And good luck.
